The First Tutorial Is Back: Slax On USB

Three weeks into re-launch and I have finally posted one of my very first WebGnuru tutorials: How To Install Slax On A USB Flash Drive. This particular tutorial was one of my higher ranked pages and drew quite a bit of traffic, so I hope that it proves useful again.

The Slax Clover Leaf.

The Slax clover leaf, straight from Tomas' slax.org.

In addition to the original tutorials on Slax and HTML, I have at least another 30 to add. These are gleaned from my last 18 months working as an IT manager for a smallish company (40 users, 3 servers, 2 offices). Of course, all of these have to be converted from the ODF files into the working HTML, and perhaps expanded a bit. I look forward to the task! They range in scope from deploying Open Office as an MSI via group policy to practical integration of a Samba file server in a Windows Server 2003 Active Directory domain.

If there is a particular How To that you miss, feel free to email me and I will do my best to put it back up as soon as I can. One thing that I am worried about is my HTML reference database. It appears my sql dump is corrupted, so I can envision having to manually re-enter all of it into a new database. Lesson learned to never trust just a single backup! (Something I already knew, but its funny how we will break our own rules when not applying them "professionally".)
