Wedding Photos, RSS Feeds and Valid Code

An attractive RSS icon.

Isn't this a really nice looking RSS icon? Maybe I can use the statuette to kill the giant spiders.

Two weeks into re-launch, and the site continues to progress. The immediate objective of providing a host for our wedding pictures that isn't dependent upon the fickle nature of a social media site has been achieved. Along the way I learned how to incorporate a Gallleria image gallery into my pages. Which also led to a complete re-style of a black scheme, as I think that works better for image bearing pages. And that of course makes me wonder if I should just have the black theme throughout the site. But, heck, thats what CSS is for.

In addition to the new image galleries, I've spent quite a bit of time behind the scenes making sure that the site is working the way it is supposed to by validating the code. Check out the nifty badges to the left, indicating the site is written in valid XHTML and CSS. Valid code openly arrived at and openly interpeted is the foundation of a free, standards compliant, cross platform internet.

And, as the image of the RSS feed indicates, I added an RSS subscription for the site, making it easy for people to know when new content is introduced. Right now I am feeling pretty sorry that I haven't added any of the technical content that Webgnuru is all about, but getting all the underlying stuff done so that content introduction goes smoothly is taking second priority to wedding pics. Which means the technical content is taking 3rd place. Sorry! That will change soon.
